Storm Names

Over the last few days I have heard the only line about storms only being named with girls names. And there is all the old jokes about it being wet and wild but then it leaves with the house. The problem is it is not true. Every second storm has a girls name but ever other storm is given a boys name. It gets seems to be the female storms are more destructive this year.

you know that a cyclone only needs to reach gale force (60km/h) for us to give it a name, but the yanks are for more concervative and wait till they reach huricane force (a fair bit more than 60) before they break out the baby name book.

Wasn't it a few weeks ago when the first huricane in ages went the other way to europe. So all the US need to do to fix the huricane problem is reverse the earths spin. look into it will you.

I think you are wrong there my fine feathered friend. They name all tropical storm; anything with a wind of over 39 km/h that is circual and form over tropical water.

    Vince did indeed hit Spain.

But fixing the spin of Earth would create a problem on the West Coast of America. There has only been two storms to hit there in recorded history.
