Latham's Diary and the Reviews

"The Book fascianated him, or more exactly it reassured him. In a sense it told him nothing that was new, but that was part of the attraction. It said to him what he would have said, if it had been possible for him to set his scattered thoughts in order. It was the product of a mind similar to his own... The best books, he perceived, are those that tell you what you know already."
"Nineteen Eighty-Four" by George Orwell.

It is interesting to see who is actually enjoying reading Latham slag fest of a book. Members of the press gallery and people like Stephen Manye have said it is a really enjoyable read. This is simply because it re-enforces their pre-existing beliefs. Anyone who has paid any attention to politics would know it is a dirty game. They know that parties are not democracy and that factions rule. This is true of the ALP, but is also true of the Liberal party and, to a lesser degree, in the minor parties. Anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves. Sad, but true.

I agree, I think the book is remarkable because it's saving everything you already know, BUT no one has ever said them before.

No reference to you yet, but only up to 2000.
