Time for an open border policy?

In an age where capitial, goods and ideas are all freely able to cross borders, the only thing which is restricted from entering and exiting is people. We have multinationals that are companies, so why can't we have multinational people? (And I am not talk about dual citizenship which I know many of people have, including me).

There is an interesting summary of different countries immigration policies and the direction they are moving in this weeks "the reader". Your point is a very good one, but its just one more aspect of selective globalism. Open boarders would solve world hunger, let the people go where the food is!

But it goes deeper than than. If globalism is only used to move trade and money then it's not being used to its full potential. The real power is in sharing ideas and culture, and not just McCulture either.
